Yamaha YZ85

As an important entry into the world of competitive motocross, the YZ85 has long been the mini race bike of choice for future champions. Light, nimble and fun with a top shelf suspension, it serves up big-bike spec in a small bike package.

Along with its proven liquid-cooled YPVS-equipped 85cc powerplant, fully adjustable suspension and large diameter brakes, the YZ85 rider ergonomics include a narrow tank design, flat seat, side covers and slim symmetrical radiator shrouds. This enables greater freedom of movement for smooth shifting of body weight and better machine control.

YPVS 2-Stroke Engine

YPVS 2-Stroke Engine

The 85cc liquid cooled engine features the Yamaha Power Valve System (YPVS) that boosts overall performance and contributes towards the bike's easy to use torque. Running with a high compression ratio - and equipped with a close ratio 6- speed transmission - the YZ85 delivers outstanding acceleration with race winning power.

Lightweight Chassis Design

Lightweight Chassis Design

Built for demanding junior racers, the YZ85's chassis is optimised for strength, rigidity and overall handling stability. The aluminium swingarm offers refined balance between longitudinal and torsional rigidity, and the removable rear subframe constructed from lightweight, high-strength aluminium reduces weight.

Fully Adjustable Front Forks

Fully Adjustable Front Forks

The lightweight 36mm KYB® inverted cartridge fork features 275mm of travel with compression and rebound damping adjustability. Complete with low-friction outer tubes and internals, the damping settings offer enhanced performance across a range of conditions and rider abilities.

Adjustable Rider Ergonomics

Adjustable Rider Ergonomics

The four-position adjustable handlebar mounts and taper-style handlebar allow the rider to tune the handlebar position to suit their size and preferences. Flat seat and narrow fuel tank design, along with smoothly integrated body panels and slim shroud width, combine to enable greater freedom of movement for increased control and confidence.

Advanced Intake Design

Advanced Intake Design

Advanced intake design allows for a straighter, more efficient draw of air into the intake tract. High-flow airbox ensures excellent air filter performance and easy maintenance.

Wave-Style Brake Discs

Wave-Style Brake Discs

Big wave-style brake discs offer improved self-cleaning and cooler-running performance. The 220mm front disc and 190mm rear disc deliver strong, precise stopping power. Rear brake master cylinder also includes built-in sub-reservoir to provide more linear brake response and increased control.
